Overview

Verathon® is looking for a Director of Operations to become the newest member of our global Operations leadership team. The role will be located in Bothell, WA. The Director of Operations is a multi-site operations leader responsible for ensuring the performance, alignment, and scalability of Verathon’s manufacturing and distribution network. This includes full operational oversight of three facilities with manufacturing and distribution centers, driving excellence in production execution, procurement, material planning, logistics, and site leadership. The role is also accountable for implementing Lean principles and leveraging data-driven decision-making to foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and cross-site performance optimization. The Director partners closely with cross-functional teams to ensure readiness for new product introductions (NPI), support growth initiatives, and deliver high standards of quality, cost, and delivery performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing, multi-site operations team, emphasizing talent development, employee engagement and succession planning.
• Cultivate and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all facilities.
• Oversee operations at three sites inclusive of manufacturing and distribution centers, ensuring performance in safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.
• Drive operational consistency and standardization through site leader management and shared KPIs.
• Align plant and distribution performance with corporate goals for seamless execution.
• Manage procurement execution across sites, ensuring supplier performance and aligned with Strategic Sourcing.
• Oversee material flow, inventory control, and logistics to maintain supply continuity and optimize working capital.
• Lead the SIOP process to align supply chain and operational capacity with demand.
• Champion Lean principles and digital transformation, supporting Verathon’s AI-driven operations strategy.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with FDA, ISO13485, GMP, and CFR regulations in partnership with QA/RA.
• Support global product registration and regulatory compliance in collaboration with QA/RA and NPD teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure operational readiness, manufacturability, cost alignment, and scalability for new product introductions
• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations, including warehousing, shipping, receiving, and distribution center performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Accounting or related discipline; MBA preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive operations leadership, with multi-site responsibility including manufacturing and distribution preferred.
• Successful track record of managing a plant P&L
• FDA regulated medical device or pharmaceutical experience preferred
• Proven experience managing procurement and material operations
• Expertise in supply chain planning, production execution, inventory management, and logistics.
• Demonstrated success in using data and KPIs to drive operations performance and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong working knowledge of Lean, continuous improvement, and ERP/MRP systems.
• Must be able to travel without restrictions to Canada and Netherlands.

 

Salary range - $186,000 - $218,000  (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range).

 

Full-time employees who are not on a commission plan are eligible for Verathon’s annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance.
