Overview

Verathon® is looking for a Test Engineer III to become the newest member of our Imaging Business Unit R&D Team located in Bothell, WA. 


The Test Engineer III at Verathon is responsible for conducting new product design testing which includes writing test protocols, analyzing data and creating test reports. In this role, the Test Engineer III will act as a Subject Matter Expert and will be an essential member of the R&D team.

Responsibilities

• Conceive tests to verify products meet user, stakeholder, system, labeling and hardware requirements
• Create test protocols for system, functional, component, and cycle tests
• Conduct adequacy review meetings to gain cross-functional support
• Define and apply statistical methods for sample size justification and analysis of results
• Design automated mechanical and electrical test fixtures and data collection for complex HW and automated system cycle testing
• Execute test protocols for automated and manual tests. Record and document results
• Coordinate and/or conduct testing of EMC, Temperature, Shock, Vibration, Tensile, Biocompatibility and packaging testing through external vendors
• Document mechanical, electrical and software “bugs” and participate in triage activities
• Participate in failure investigations
• Analyze test results, author, and release test reports
• Create data-based reliability forecasts to inform business decisions
• Provide content and present results at Design Reviews
• Lead and promote design for reliability efforts

Qualifications

• BSME, BSEE, or equivalent technical degree, required
• 5+ years of experience developing tests for hardware and application software in a team environment
     - Medical Device experience preferred 
     - Experience with tools such as JIRA, JAMA and Master Control preferred 
• Hands-on lab skills including prototyping, testing, and debugging
• Experience in various programming languages like Python, C, or C++
• Good hardware and software development process skills
• Good hardware and software documentation skills
• Detail oriented, methodical, well organized and interested in the latest technologies
• Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
• Experience translating requirements documents into test cases, assigning test methods
• Experience mapping test cases to product requirements
• Experience with common test instruments such as: Data Acquisition, Instron, oscilloscopes, DVMs.

 

Salary range - $116,673 - $142,695 (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range). 

 

Full-time non-sales employees are eligible for Verathon’s annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance.
